This workshop is intended to teach several aspects of the Java programming language, starting with basic data types and working up toward object-based programming and user interface development with JavaFX. Before attending this workshop please watch both videos posted below in order to familiarize yourself with the Eclipse IDE that the instructor will be using, if you have your own personal preference of development environment you may use that, but the workshop will be instructed using Eclipse. The workshop schedule can be expected to be as follows:

Week 1-2 Basics: Introductory data types, storage types, Boolean statements, loops, conditionals.

Week 3-4 Object-oriented (topics will repeat): Methods, classes, class hierarchy, and using classes as objects between files.

Time Permitting: Introductory JavaFX, Drawing Panels, Scenes, Panes, and how they work together.
Open study halls will be hosted after the workshop to discuss topics pertaining to the information discussed in the day’s workshop and other java related content.
